Kenan Çayır is an associate professor at the Sociology Department of Istanbul Bilgi University, and director of the university’s Centre for Sociology and Education Studies. He completed his undergraduate and master’s education in the Sociology Department of Boğaziçi University, and received his doctorate from the Political Sciences and International Relations department of the same university. Following his doctorate he carried out research at the Centre for Citizenship and Human Rights Education at Leeds University in the United Kingdom and at the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research in Germany. His books and edited collections include Who are We?
